This past weekend we decorated Mom's house for Christmas. It really turned out beautiful.

I moved my refrigerator into the laundry area right off the kitchen to give me more room. It was a GREAT move....but it opened up a can of worms that led to this...
The chair rail was removed along with the ugly soffit that was hanging over the stove.

This was the wallpaper that had been painted over by the previous owner. It was all removed as well.


The plaster walls were so bad, they had to be mudded and sanded. Then painted all the woodwork and walls a bright white. I picked out a great backsplash for the sink area, and a nice carrera marble subway tile to go behind the stove.


I'm very proud of how it turned out...a fresh change!

I found some great pots for my front porch, and Mom planted them for my birthday. I think they love their new home!

It's pretty cool that something starts out like this and with a lot of water and warmer air ends up looking like this

The end of winter brought a huge snowstorm, and I captured these images while homebound. I loved how the robins were all relaxing on the tree branches while the snow fell.

I had my eye on this really cool fountain at Botanica Gardens for quite a while. My brother and his family housewarmed it to me. It is good Feng Shui to have a water fountain near your front door, so mine is in my living room and the sound of the water is so soothing.

I love rearranging furniture and giving rooms a fresh, new look. Later this spring, I plan to add a new accent color to the living room.

snow day

Our first big snow of 2011. 5 1/2" in Little Rock. It is absolutely beautiful.

This is the guest bathroom in December of 2009.

I could hardly stand looking at the linoleum floor, so I took on the task of pulling it up. It was definitely more than I had bargained for.

November 2010...the bathroom finally gets a new floor.

December 2010...the bathroom gets a new vanity.

A new mirror.

A brand new look.
